The Call to Brazil
It all started with a whisper in our hearts. The call to serve God in Brazil was undeniable. Stephen, with his passion for music and youth ministry, and Jenifer, with her missionary roots, felt a deep connection to this beautiful country. The vibrant culture, the warm-hearted people, and the opportunity to share the love of Christ – it was a calling we couldn’t ignore.
After much prayer, discussion, and confirmation from trusted mentors, we made the decision to embark on this new adventure. We knew it wouldn’t be easy. Leaving our jobs, our friends, and our familiar surroundings was daunting. But we knew that with God leading the way, we had nothing to fear.
The Journey Begins
Our first step towards Brazil was raising support. We reached out to our church community, family, and friends, sharing our vision and asking for their partnership in this mission. The response was overwhelming. It was incredible to witness how God moved in the hearts of those around us, as they generously gave to support our calling.
With our support raised, we were ready to take the next leap – language school in São Paulo. We recognized the importance of learning the local language and immersing ourselves in the culture. It was the key to building relationships and effectively sharing the gospel.
Language School and Beyond
Arriving in São Paulo was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. The bustling city, the unfamiliar sights and sounds, and the anticipation of what lay ahead – it was an adventure like no other. But as we stepped into our language school, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The teachers and fellow students quickly became like family, providing the support and encouragement we needed to navigate this new chapter of our lives.
Every day at language school was a learning experience – not just in terms of vocabulary and grammar, but in understanding the heart of the Brazilian people. We were amazed by their resilience, their love for community, and their deep faith. We realized that Brazil wasn’t just a place where we were called to serve, but a place where we would grow and be transformed.
